Hey, I hate to be one of those been there, done that geeks, but
we did a transparent paypall and billpoint system that not only
did micropayments, also tied an X.509 valid key pair to the individual
identity, and allowed tieing cumulated micropayments to
drag and drop to and from the Web and even did 3rd party
payment settlement, i.e. where the two participants traded
mp3's peer to peer but could do variable or fixed pricing,
redistribution, etc all centrally controlled.
We have a couple of software patents floating its
way through the system.
